New York Giants Considering Reunion With Odell Beckham Jr.

The New York Giants are working out free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for the second time this offseason, as the club looks to bolster its pass catching depth for 2026.

Earlier in the day Monday, the team announced that they were signing veteran WR Braxton Berrios to a 1 year deal. However, the team is reportedly looking to further boost its wide receiver room beyond what it currently has on its roster.

Beckham Jr. will workout alongside fellow pass catchers Juju Smith-Schuster, and Anthony Miller. The 33 year old previously did a private workout for New York back in April. OBJ is familiar with new Giants head coach John Harbaugh stemming from their time together in Baltimore during the 2023 NFL campaign.

“Talked to Odell a lot, probably three or four times in the last week, [see] where he’s at, where we’re at,” Harbaugh said in May.

New York will likely be without depth WR and kick returner Gunner Olszewski for the upcoming season after he tore his Achilles during a practice last week. Add in the fact that both Malik Nabers (knee) and Darius Slayton (core injury) are both still rehabbing injuries of their own, and one can see why the team would be in the market for additional bodies this summer.

Beckham did not play during the 2025 NFL season, and his last appearance in an NFL uniform was a largely forgettable one. Across 9 games with the Miami Dolphins in 2024, the former Offensive Rookie of the Year posted a paltry 9 catches for 55 yards and 0 TDs.

Nevertheless, he’s a proven pass catcher for a team that finds itself shockingly thin in that regard heading into the warmer months. A 5 time 1,000+ yard receiver, OBJ’s best years are certainly behind him. But if he’s willing to take a step back and work as a depth receiver, there may still be a role for him to play with his former team in 2026.
