49ers Sign QB Brock Purdy To 5 Year Extension

The San Francisco 49ers have signed quarterback Brock Purdy to a 5 year, $265M contract extension the team announced Friday.

The deal, which will feature $181M in guaranteed money, will come in at an average annual value of $53M per season. That’s quite the pay raise for 2022’s Mr. Irrelevant who earned a total of $2.6M for his first 3 NFL seasons combined.

The $265M deal would rank 5th in the NFL in terms of total dollars, while his average annual value makes him tied for 7th amongst his peers. The 25 year old has played in 40 games with 36 starts, posting a 23-13 record, while throwing for 9,518 yards, 64 touchdowns and 27 interceptions.

“I want to be in San Francisco and play my football career here,” Purdy previously told reporters. “I know that I’m the guy for this organization and that I can do what it takes to help lead us where we want to go.”

Only Dak Prescott ($60M), Josh Allen ($55M), Jordan Love ($55M), Trevor Lawrence ($55M), Joe Burrow ($55M), and Tua Tagovailoa ($53.1M) are set to earn more that Purdy on his new deal.

The former Iowa State signal caller has been named to 1x Pro Bowl over the course of his NFL career back in 2023. Coming off a down year in 2024 where the entire 49ers roster battled injuries all season long, Purdy and his teammates will look to re-establish themselves in the always competitive NFC West division this fall.

San Francisco kicks off their 2025 NFL campaign on the road against the Seattle Seahawks on September 7th.
