After only 6 weeks away from football, Tom Brady announced on Sunday that he would be returning for his 23rd NFL season. Brady made the “un-retirement” announcement on social media early Sunday evening:
The 44 year old came off one of his best seasons statistically in years, and many close to him didn’t believe he had fully shut the door on the NFL quite yet. The question on many football minds now centres around whether Brady intends to compete for the Bucs in 2022 or try to force a trade to another franchise.
TB12 has long been rumoured to be on San Francisco’s radar, and with Tampa Bay potentially having a massive roster overhaul this offseason, Brady may not be long for the sunshine state. The Bucs could be potentially looking at a brand new offensive line in 2022, as well as the departures of several key pieces on offense.
The former Michigan Wolverine QB holds virtually every NFL passing record, and is a surefire unanimous selection for the Hall of Fame when he becomes eligible.
