Calgary Flames Sign Connor Zary To 3 Year Extension

The Calgary Flames have signed restricted free agent Connor Zary to a 3 year, $11.325M contract extension on Saturday.

The deal will count for an AAV of $3.775M per year, and will keep the talented forward in Calgary through the 2027-28 NHL campaign.

Originally drafted 24th overall by the Flames back in 2020, Zary has amassed 61 points across 117 games at the NHL level to date. The 23 year old was limited to just 54 games in 2024-25, but posted 13G and 14A for a Calgary team going through a transition year.

Zary was one of six remaining restricted free agents across the league that didn’t have a contract heading into the weekend. Prior to the deal, Calgary had roughly $15.4M in cap space, which should allow the team to be creative this season as they look to make the playoffs in 2025-26.

The Flames kick off their preseason with a clash against the Edmonton Oilers on September 21st.
