The Tennessee Titans have signed safety Amani Hooker to a 3 year, $48.6M contract extension on Saturday the club announced.
The deal, which will feature $29M in guarantees, locks up a key piece of the team’s secondary for the foreseeable future. Hooker, who led the team with 5 interceptions in 2024, was entering the final year of his $33M contract extension signed back in 2022.
The 27 year old was Tennessee’s 4th round pick from the 2019 draft, but has since blossomed into a cornerstone of the team’s defence. Hooker was on the field for 96.2% of the team’s defensive snaps last year, as he tied for the team lead with 9 pass breakups.
“This is a reflection of all the people that believed in me along the way,” Hooker said. “I want to thank Ms. Amy for wanting me to be here, to Chad (Brinker), Mike (Borgonzi) and Coach (Brian Callahan) for supporting me and giving me the opportunity. Most importantly, I want to thank my family and my teammates and those who’ve been in my corner since the beginning. I’m proud to be a Titan for many more years and look forward to building towards one goal.”
Across 6 NFL seasons, the former Iowa standout has appeared in 80 games, recording 315 tackles, 12 interceptions and 31 passes defended during that time.
Hooker is currently part of a deep safety group that includes Xavier Woods, Quandre Diggs, Mike Brown and Kevin Winston Jr. The club officially kicks off their 2025 season on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
