The Colorado Avalanche have activated forward Artturi Lehkonen from injured reserve the team announced on Sunday.
Lehkonen has yet to suit up for any games thus far as he continued to recover from offseason shoulder surgery. The 29 year old has been a productive contributor for Colorado when healthy, however has been dealing with a variety of ailments over the past few seasons.
Since appearing in all 82 games in 2018-2019 while still a member of the Montreal Canadiens, Lehkonen has suited up for 70, 47, 74, 64 and 45 games since. The Finnish forward registered 11 points across 11 playoff games last season, but missed all of training camp due to his rehab process.
Originally drafted 55th overall by Montreal back in 2013, Lehkonen has 117 goals and 243 points in 521 career NHL games.
In a corresponding move, the Avalanche assigned forward Ivan Ivan to the AHL’s Colorado Eagles on Sunday.
