The Seattle Seahawks and defensive tackle Leonard Williams have come to terms on a 3 year, $90M extension on Thursday. Williams, who was scheduled to become a free agent in 2027, will now earn $30M in AAV, and will receive $56M in guaranteed money as part of his new deal.
His new contract will make him the 5th highest paid defensive tackle across the league, trailing only Jalen Carter, Quinnen Williams, Jeffery Simmons and Chris Jones.
Williams was originally acquired by Seattle in October of 2023 as part of a trade with the New York Giants. The Seahawks wound up giving their 2024 second rounder and a 2025 fifth in order to land the lineman’s services.
Since then, he’s been named to the Pro Bowl in back to back seasons, and was a key member of the Super Bowl winning roster in 2025. The 32 year old posted 62 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 22 QB hits, and 7 sacks last season as he started all 17 games for Seattle.
Across an 11 year NFL career, Williams has amassed 61.5 sacks and 223 QB hits, splitting time between the Seahawks, Giants, and New York Jets.
