Flyers Sign Christian Dvorak To 5 Year Extension

The Philadelphia Flyers and forward Christian Dvorak have come to terms on a 5 year, $25.75M contract extension the club announced.

Dvorak is enjoying a strong 2025-26 NHL campaign in his first season in Philadelphia, tallying 25 points (9G, 16A) across 39 contests. With half the season still to go it would appear as though the former London Knight will easily eclipse his previous career high of 38 points set back in 2019-20.

“We’re very happy to have Christian be a part of the Philadelphia Flyers for the foreseeable future,” said general manager Daniel Briere in a release. “He has played a pivotal role in our team’s success this season and proven to be a reliable, two-way center that can be trusted in all situations. More importantly, he plays a big role in our locker room and has fit in seamlessly to our group and what we are building.”

The 29 year old joined the Flyers last summer on a 1 year, $5.4M deal. His new pact will give him job security, but will come in at a slightly lower figure, counting for $5.15M against the cap annually.

Originally drafted in the second round, 58th overall, by the Arizona Coyotes back in 2014, Dvorak spent the first 5 seasons of his NHL career in the desert. He then joined the Montreal Canadiens for a 4 year stint before heading to Philadelphia as a free agent in 2025.

The Flyers are next in action against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night at 7pm ET in Philadelphia.
