Vikings WR Jordan Addison Suspended 3 Games

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison has been suspended for the first 3 games of the 2025 NFL season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

The suspension stems from a 2024 incident where Addison pleaded no contest to a charge of “wet reckless driving on a highway” which resulted in a $390 fine, and 12 months of probation. The NFL’s substance abuse policy has a section dedicated to the use of alcohol in a driving incident, which is where the 3 game ban comes into play.

As a result of the suspension, the 23 year old will miss the season opener vs. Chicago, followed by games against the Falcons and Bengals. He will be eligible to return for the Vikings Week 4 contest against the Steelers in Dublin.

The former first round pick posted 63 receptions for 875 yards and 9 TDs in 2024. Though he will miss the first portion of the season, he will still be eligible to participate in training camp and preseason contests. That will be especially important as Minnesota looks to build chemistry between the club’s pass catchers and newly minted starter J.J. McCarthy at QB.

With Addison sidelined, it’s expected that 4th year wideout Jalen Nailor will assume most of the team’s WR2 reps behind Justin Jefferson.
