2025 CEBL Draft Class Announced

The 2025 CEBL Draft class was officially unveiled this week, with 30 student athletes across 25 colleges and universities hearing their names called when all was said and done. As has been tradition, most of the names hailed from U SPORTS member schools, though an increasing number of CCAA players were selected this year, with 3 players hailing from the college ranks.

St. Francis Xavier and Toronto Metropolitan University led the way with 3 drafted players apiece, as a fresh crop of student athletes will train and play with their respective CEBL franchises this summer. Of the 30 selections, 21 of the players were first time draftees, while the remaining 9 will be doing their second tour of duty in the league.

The CEBL is quickly establishing itself as a means for Canadian players to gain additional exposure, and put together film for leagues across the globe and the NBA alike. The league has graduated multiple players to the NBA ranks over the years, with a record 12 players being rostered in 2024 that had previous NBA experience.

The 2025 CEBL season runs from May through August, with training camps beginning to ramp up over the next few weeks in preparation for the season.
