Indiana Fever Announce Plans For New Practice Facility

The Indiana Fever have announced plans to break ground on a new state of the art practice facility in downtown Indianapolis.

The dedicated practice facility will come at a cost of $78M, giving the Fever their own space outside of the Gainbridge Fieldhouse which they currently share with the NBA’s Indiana Pacers. The new facility will boast a wide array of features to better serve existing players, and help attract free agents in the future as well.

Construction on the new 3 story, 108,000 square foot location is expected to begin in August 2025, with the goal of opening in time for the 2027 WNBA season.

“We are excited to partner with Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett to identify the perfect location for the Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center,” PS&E Owner Herb Simon said. “The city of Indianapolis continues to be a tremendous partner as we elevate our team, players and community.”

Included in the plans is:

-2 regulation sized courts with natural light
-Strength & Conditioning Centre
-Yoga & Pilates space
-Hydration stations
-Full service kitchen
-Spa including red light therapy, massage, sauna, steam, heat studios & float tank
-Hydrotherapy pools
-Hail and nail salon
-Private outdoor courtyard
-Podcast & Production studio & more

“With the goal of Indianapolis becoming the epicenter of women’s sports, this world-class sports performance center will be the preeminent place for players to train, recover and push their boundaries,” PS&E CEO Mel Raines said. “It’s a game changer in terms of providing the ultimate player experience and we can’t wait for our team to reap the benefits of having an exclusive and unparalleled facility designed specifically for them.”

The new facility will also feature a team store, and space for community events to elevate the team brand and conduct community engagement programs. The proposed location for the new facility is the west half of the former Marion County Jail site located at the corner of Alabama & Maryland street.

“This elite training center is a reflection of our organization’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that our players have the highest level of resources to be successful,” Krauskopf said. “As we look to the future, the focus of creating a first-class player experience designed exclusively for women athletes will set us apart.”

The Fever will continue to use their shared space in the Fieldhouse as they prepare for the upcoming 2025 WNBA Draft and season. Indiana tips off their 2025 campaign on May 17th against the Chicago Sky.
