Nottingham Forest Moves Out Of Bottom 3

With a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, coupled with a Luton Town loss to Tottenham, Nottingham Forest has managed to claw its way out of the relegation zone.

Jean-Philippe Mateta gave Palace an early lead at the 11th minute, but Chris Wood evened the score in the second half with a deftly placed header to secure the much needed point.

Meanwhile, Luton Town would find themselves on the wrong side of a 2-1 score against Tottenham Hotspur allowing the tricky trees to emerge from the danger zone on the Premier League table. As it currently stands, Sheffield United, Luton Town, and Burnley now find themselves in the league basement points wise.

Nottingham Forest have never lost any of their Premier League meetings with Crystal Palace (3 wins, 5 draws), which is the most they’ve faced a side without a loss. It’s also the most the Eagles have faced a side without ever winning in Premier League action as well.

The loss for Crystal Palace continues their tough run of form as they’ve now failed to win any of their last nine Premier League away games (4 draws, 5 losses), since a 2-0 win at Burnley back in November.

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood continued his torrid stretch of play, having now scored nine goals over his last 11 Premier League starts. Something about Crystal Palace seems to bring out the best in the 32 year old as he has five goals in his last 10 league starts against the club.

On the other side of the pitch, Jean-Philippe Mateta has now been involved in five goals over his last seven Premier League appearances for Crystal Palace (4 goals, 1 assist). That total is as many as in his previous 25 contests.

Up next for Nottingham is a date with Fulham on Tuesday, while Crystal Palace will renew hostilities with Bournemouth.
