With playoff spots clinched, divisions wrapped up, and little to play for in the final week of the 2023 NFL regular season, more than a few household names will be on the sidelines this weekend. While some teams face must-win games in the penultimate weekend of the season, others have already put a bow on their playoff push.
With contract incentives at play, and personal milestones (Travis Kelce needing just 16 more receiving yards to hit 1,000 on the year comes to mind), there’ll be some surprising names who will take the field for brief cameos on Sunday.
While there are more than a few players who will ultimately be “game time decisions” or see limited action, here are the players that have been confirmed by their respective clubs that will be spectators in Week 18.
Lamar Jackson – QB, Baltimore Ravens
Patrick Mahomes – QB, Kansas City Chiefs
Brock Purdy – QB, San Francisco 49ers
Matthew Stafford – QB, Los Angeles Rams
Joe Flacco – QB, Cleveland Browns
Russell Wilson – QB, Denver Broncos
Kyren Williams – RB, Los Angeles Rams
Christian McCaffrey – RB, San Francisco 49ers
Cooper Kupp – WR, Los Angeles Rams
Aaron Donald – DT, Los Angeles Rams
Ernest Jones – LB, Los Angeles Rams
