Christian Dvorak out for season

Christian Dvorak Out For Season

Montreal Canadiens forward Christian Dvorak will miss the remainder of the season with a torn pectoral muscle the club announced Thursday. Montreal says he will under surgery on Friday.

The injury marks back to back years that have been cut short for the American born centre, as his 2022-23 campaign was halted due to a knee injury which also required surgery. Dvorak, who last suited up on December 30th vs. Florida, joins an ever growing list of Canadiens players who have missed significant time this year.

Kirby Dach suffered a knee injury and was quickly ruled out for the year, while winger Rafael Harvey-Pinard has missed 8 weeks with a lower body injury, and Tanner Pearson has been out since December 11th. Newly acquired forward Alex Newhook has also been out for several weeks with a high ankle sprain.

Originally selected 58th overall by Arizona in 2014, Dvorak has registered 7pts (3G, 4A) in 25 contests with the Habs in 2023-24.

Because of their rash of injuries, Montreal will go with 11 forwards and 7 defensemen against Buffalo when they take the ice at 7pm ET Thursday.
