According to reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins is set to miss this week’s game vs. the Houston Texans due to a hamstring injury.
The 24 year old is believed to have sustained the injury at practice Wednesday, and sat out team activities on Thursday as a result. Evidently the injury is more than just a tweak, as the team was quick to rule Higgins out for this weekend, and has since labelled him “week to week”.
This will mark the 2nd time the former Clemson standout has missed time this season due to injury after sitting out the club’s week 5 contest due to a rib injury. Across 7 contests in 2023, Higgins has recorded 27 receptions for 328 yards and 2 TDs.
The injury is one the Bengals can ill afford at the moment as Ja’Marr Chase is also dealing with a back injury as well. Chase sat out Wednesday’s session but logged a limited participation on Thursday.
However the 23 year old downplayed the injury telling reporters he’s confident that he will be available when his team takes the field in week 10. Chase played through the injury in week 9, however was held to a season low 4 catches.
After limping out of the gate with a 1-3 record, Cincinnati has since rattled off 4 straight wins, including a 24-18 victory over Buffalo last Sunday. With Higgins sidelined, 8th year wideout Tyler Boyd is expected to take on a larger role in the team’s offense.
