The 149th running of the Kentucky Derby takes place May 6th at Churchill Downs. This year’s event has an added layer of intrigue as the presumptive favourite, Forte, was scratched from the race a mere 12 hours before post time.
It marks the first time a Derby favourite was scratched on race day since 2009, and makes for a wide open field heading into the weekend. Will we see another shocking upset like we did in 2022 when 80-1 longshot Rich Strike took home the victory?
