Eden Hazard Frustrated By Playing Time

Eden Hazard admits frustration over lack of game time at Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard has conceded his frustration over the lack of game time for his club, culminating in a period described as ‘difficult and tough’.

The former Chelsea and LOSC Lille forward has seen his career derail remarkably since his big money move to Los Blancos. Recurring injuries to his hamstrings have compounded to several months on the sidelines.

It’s quite absurd for a player who was extremely consistent with his performances as well as regularity. As it is, it looks like Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t trust the Belgian skipper in his attack.

He opted to start Rodrygo alongside Federico Valverde in a front three that also had the electric Vinicius Jr. Hazard managed to start his first game since January in Real Madrid’s 4-1 thumping of Mallorca, following an impressive display off the bench against Celtic in the Champions League.

On a night the Spanish powerhouse were on top of their game, Hazard was relatively quiet and hauled off before the hour mark.

Karim Benzema’s injury in the 3-0 victory over Celtic opened a doorway for Hazard, who lit up the game with his link-up play, pace and sharpness. For his efforts, he bagged a well-worked goal.

It wasn’t to be though, as he was sent back to the bench a game after. Rodrygo’s goal scoring touch means Hazard may have to spend some more time confined to the sidelines.

Speaking with RTL, Hazard exclaimed “There have been difficult and tough times because I wanted to play, but I’m not playing. I feel good at Real Madrid, but I’m playing less.”

Hazard, who’s often not one to call shots in the media, had promised Real Madrid supporters he’d give it all on the pitch this term. He previously claimed “Madridistas, I’ve been here for three years with many injuries, with many things. But next year I’m going to give it all for you.”

Fast forward to today, Hazard admits it’s not the best situation for him in his dream club, concluding “And when I go out on the pitch, I feel good. It’s a complicated situation. I want to play more.”

Hazard will lead his national side against the Netherlands on September 25th next, whilst he’ll be hoping to make some sort of impact if he plays a part in Real Madrid’s next fixture. The Spanish champions will rub shoulders with Osasuna at home on October 2.
