Nico Collins Injures Hamstring At Texans Practice

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins suffered a hamstring injury at practice on Wednesday, putting his status for Week 2 against the Bengals in doubt.

While the team doesn’t believe that the injury is significant enough to warrant a multi-week absence, his availability for Sunday is murky at best at the best. The team’s official injury report listed Collins as a “limited” participant.

The 27 year old will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury, but it can’t make Texans fans comfortable knowing that a similar ailment sidelined the dynamic wideout for 5 games back in 2024. Collins hauled in 7 passes on 10 targets for 75 yards and touchdown in his team’s Week 1 loss to Buffalo.

He’s coming off back-to-back-to-back 1,000+ yard receiving seasons and has been the undisputed number 1 pass catching option for the Texans since quarterback C.J. Stroud joined the team.

Making matters worse for Houston is the fact that the team lost number 2 wide receiver Jayden Higgins to an ACL tear this offseason. Higgins, who thrived in the 2nd half of 2025, will miss the entirety of the 2026 NFL campaign. Meanwhile, Tank Dell remains out as he recovers from a gruesome leg injury, leaving Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel and the recently acquired Kayshon Boutte as the team’s starting receivers.
