Brandon Ingram Signs 3 Year, $120M Extension With Raptors

The Toronto Raptors and newly acquired forward Brandon Ingram have agreed to a 3 year, $120M contract extension according to Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul.

The 27 year old was acquired by the Raptors at the NBA trade deadline last week, but arrived north of the border on an expiring deal. Now Ingram will locked up for at least the next two seasons, with a player option for the 2027-28 campaign.

The signing gives Toronto a core of Ingram, Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, and RJ Barrett to build around as they look to turn the corner in their rebuild, possibly as early as next season. The former Pelicans forward has been sidelined since December 7th with an ankle injury, but is expected to return in a few weeks time.

With Toronto currently sporting a 16-37 record, and much of their trade deadline activity centred around opening up playing minutes for younger prospects, the front office will be in no rush to get Ingram back on the court until fully healthy. At this point, getting in some late season reps with his new teammates, and entering 2025-26 fully healthy will be the focus for the former 2nd overall pick out of Duke.

The deal also keeps the Raptors just below the luxury tax threshold, meaning that they’ll have virtually free rein this offseason to add to their roster in whatever way they see fit. Toronto also has P.J. Tucker, Chris Boucher, and Garrett Temple potentially coming off the books this summer, freeing up nearly $25M in space if they choose not to re-sign any of them.

Across 8 games this season Ingram is averaging 22.2pts/5.6reb/5.2ast per game, while shooting 37.4% from behind the 3 point line. Toronto is next in action Tuesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
