Dolphins Sign WR Jaylen Waddle To Massive Extension

The Miami Dolphins have reached an agreement with WR Jaylen Waddle’s camp on a 3 year, $84.75M contract extension. The deal, which will make him one of the NFL’s top 5 highest paid receivers, will include $76M in guaranteed money.

Waddle is fresh off establishing a new Dolphins franchise record with three consecutive 1,000 receiving seasons to start his career. He will now be tied to Miami through the 2028 season.

The former Alabama standout was selected by Miami 6th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, and has had instant chemistry with QB Tua Tagovailoa since joining the team.

Over the course of his career, Waddle has hauled in 251 passes for 3,385 yards and 18 TDs through the air. The 2020 National Champion has formed a dynamic 1-2 punch with fellow wideout Tyreek Hill in South Beach, and will now be joined by former All-Pro receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in 2024.

In terms of guaranteed money, the 25 year old’s $76M deal trails only A.J. Brown ($84M) and Amon-Ra St. Brown ($77M) in NFL history. The contract was negotiated by Waddle’s agents at WME Football.
