Patriots Extend DeVante Parker

The New England Patriots have signed WR DeVante Parker to a new 3 year contract worth up to $33M, with $14M in guaranteed money.

The 30 year old wideout made 31 catches for 539 yards and 3 TDs with the Pats in 2022. Parker was limited to just 13 games, 11 starts, as he dealt with a patella sprain and then later a concussion.

New England brought the former Louisville WR over from Miami last offseason along with a 2022 5th rounder in exchange for a 2023 3rd round draft choice. A pick the Dolphins ultimately used to select Texas A&M running back Devon Achane.

Parker was originally selected by Miami in the 1st round of the 2015 NFL Draft (14th overall). Across 8 seasons he amassed 369 receptions for 5,266yds and 27TDs in 106 games.

While the new deal inevitably eats up some additional cap space on the Patriots roster this season, it doesn’t necessarily remove the club from the DeAndre Hopkins sweepstakes. Hopkins, 31, visited with the team earlier this month but continues to weigh his options before making a final decision.

Reports indicate that the former Cardinal will continue to evaluate his suitors until late July when training camps begin to kick off.
