Latest OBJ Fantasy Fallout News

Fantasy owners who have been patiently waiting for the Odell Beckham Jr. saga to play out can officially cut bait.

Speaking in an interview with TNF in the Shop, OBJ revealed that he’s now targeting a return to action for the NFL playoffs as opposed to the regular season. In effect, this makes him a non-factor for Fantasy Football, but still very much a player of interest to teams vying for real life championships.

“I’ve played football for a long time,” Beckham said. “I’m not saying that I couldn’t step in and play regular season, but I don’t see the point. I really don’t. I would rather play when the pressure is on.”

The 30 year old also reiterated that he’s healthy and has been medically returned to play following his torn ACL suffered in last year’s Super Bowl. The comments come on the heels of Jerry Jones raising concerns about the medical reports the Cowboys received following Beckham’s visit with the team last week.

To date, OBJ has refused to do any on field workouts with his potential suitors, while also maintaining his desire to sign a multi-year deal as opposed to a “rental” contract with a contender.

The former LSU Tiger has met with the Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, and New York Giants in recent weeks. Given the medical red flags, and Beckham’s comments about the regular season, it appears safe for fantasy owners to relegate OBJ back to the waiver wire to free up some roster space heading into the fantasy playoffs.
