Real Madrid Preparing To Sign Yan Diomande

Real Madrid are putting the final touches on a massive contract to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande for a reported €135 million sum Monday. Diomande, who starred for the Ivory Coast World Cup team this summer, potted 12 goals and dished out 8 assists in the Bundesliga last season.

If all incentives in the deal are achieved, the pact would represent a record transfer fee for Madrid, surpassing even those of Jude Bellingham and Eden Hazard. According to numerous reports, French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain were linked to the teenage phenom and had begun preliminary negotiations for his rights.

While the deal is still pending a clean medical screening, once complete, it will link Diomande to the Spanish giants throughout 2031.

The deal is just the latest in a series of moves aimed at overhauling Real Madrid’s roster under new head coach Jose Mourinho. The club already signed Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, Bernardo Silva, and Denzel Dumfries this summer alone. With Diomande set to join the mix, the club will need to move out some of their existing players in order to make room for all the new faces set to descend on the Bernabéu this season.

After finishing 8 points back of rival Barcelona in 2025-26, Real Madrid appears to be pushing their chips into the middle of the table this year in an effort to recapture La Liga supremacy.

Even after their recent spending spree, the club doesn’t appear to be done tinkering with their roster quite yet. According to reports out of Spain, the club remains deep in negotiations with Manchester City about midfielder Rodri. The captain of the World Cup winning Spanish side has one year remaining on his contract with City, but is believed to be interested in a return to his native Spain.

City are believed to be in the market to find a suitable replacement for Rodri before continuing their negations with Real Madrid, but should the opportunity present itself, they are believed to be open to making a deal.
