Oilers Sign Colton Dach To 2 Year Extension

Oilers Sign Colton Dach To 2 Year Extension

The Edmonton Oilers and forward Colton Dach have come to terms on a 2 year extension worth an AAV of $1.2M on Sunday the team announced.

Acquired by Edmonton at the 2026 NHL Trade deadline, Dach would go on to register 5G and 8A across 61 games in 2025-26. With Edmonton, the 23 year old would score 2G and 2A across 8 regular season games.

Dach figures to play a depth role with Edmonton’s bottom 6 group this season. Despite missing significant time with an injury, his 219 hits were top 15 in the league, adding some sandpaper to an Oilers group that has amongst the best high end talent in the league.

He and fellow Oiler Jason Dickinson came over from Chicago in exchange for Andrew Mangiapane and a 2027 conditional 1st round pick. Dach’s qualifying offer was set at $1.32M, meaning Edmonton gets some slight cap relief in exchange for tacking on a 2nd year to the deal.

When his new extension expires in the summer of 2028, Dach will be a restricted free agent. Following the signing, Edmonton is poised to have $4.725M in cap space heading into the 2026-27 NHL campaign.
