Seahawks Sign Derick Hall To 3 Year Extension

The Seattle Seahawks and outside linebacker Derick Hall have come to terms on a new 3 year, $42M extension which will feature $21M in guaranteed money. If all incentives are reached, the deal could rise to be valued at as much as $46.5M according to Hall’s agents.

Hall was set to enter the final season of his rookie contract after being selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Now, the 25 year old will be tied to the team through the 2029 season. Hall is the latest Seahawk to ink an extension, following in the steps of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Charles Cross.

The talented outside linebacker got stronger as the season wore on. After suiting up for 17 games in 2024, Hall’s on field production took a slight step backwards in the regular season as he battled injuries. His 8 sack total from 2024 dropped to 2 in 2025 across 14 games, but he proved to be a game wrecker in the postseason. This was perhaps no more evident than in the Super Bowl where he recorded 2 sacks and a forced fumble en route to a Lombardi sealing win for the Hawks.

It wasn’t all roses for Hall last season however, as he was suspended for a game by the NFL after the league determined that he intentionally stepped on an opponent’s leg against the Los Angeles Rams. This, coupled with the fact that he was part of a four man rotation at the EDGE rusher position, limited his average snaps per game to 30 per contest.

With Boye Mafe joining the Bengals in free agency, and DeMarcus Lawrence now 34 years old, Hall figures to see an uptick in usage on the west coast as Seattle will try to fend off the Rams and 49ers for NFC West supremacy this season.
