Eagles Sign WR Marquise Brown To 1 Year Deal

The Philadelphia Eagles added some depth to their wide receiver room on Tuesday, agreeing to a 1 year deal with Marquise “Hollywood” Brown worth up to $6.5M.

Brown spent the previous two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, making 49 receptions for 587 yards and 5 TDs in 2025. Originally drafted 25th overall back in 2019 out of Oklahoma, the 28 year old split time between the Chiefs, Ravens, and Cardinals organizations.

The speedy wideout is the cousin of former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Antonio Brown, but is not related to current Eagles pass catcher AJ Brown. The latter of which has been linked to trade rumours throughout much of the offseason, though no team has been willing to meet Philadelphia’s price tag to date.

While the addition of the younger Brown adds a different dimension to Philadelphia’s offence, it certainly shouldn’t be viewed as a replacement for AJ’s production. AJ has made a career as a big bodied wide receiver who is able to high point the ball and come down with contested catches in high traffic areas.

Marquise on the other hand, is best used in space where he can use his speed to his advantage for downfield shots, jet sweeps, and other designed plays to get the ball in his hands with blockers in front of him. Hollywood’s best season to date came back in 2021 when he made 91 receptions for 1,008 yards and 6 TDs.
