Tottenham Sack Thomas Frank As Coach

Tottenham Sack Thomas Frank As Coach

Following their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United, the Tottenham Hotspur football club has announced they are relieving head coach Thomas Frank of his duties.

“The Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today,” the team announced in a prepared statement.

“Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together. However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.”

“Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”

The club has yet to make any longterm decisions for Frank’s replacement, however it would appear likely that the team will operate under an interim head coach in the immediate future. Chief Executive Vinai Venkatesham is expected to layout the Spurs plan when he speaks to the media later on Wednesday.

Tottenham have won just 2 of their past 17 league matches, and are winless in their last 8 contests. Currently sitting at 7-8-11 on the year, the Hotspur side sit just 5 points clear of the relegation zone. Should they continue their current slide, they could be facing the very real possibility of slipping into the second tier for the first time since 1977.

With just two home wins on the season, the atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has become downright toxic, with fans beginning to sour on both management and players alike. The 52 year old Frank was serenaded with chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning” throughout their latest contest.

Making matters worse, captain Cristian Romero recently vented his frustrations on social media regarding the club’s hierarchy. The Argentinian posted in January that upper management “only show up when things are going well, to tell a few lies.” He would subsequently call the team’s roster construction “disgraceful” in reference to how thin the roster had become due to injuries.

The team will now have a few days to recover before taking the field against league leaders Arsenal on Sunday February 22nd.
