The Dallas Cowboys and running back Javonte Williams have come to terms on a new 3 year deal worth $24M the team announced Saturday.
Williams, who was set to become a free agent, will now earn a $6M signing bonus, and see $16M of his contract guaranteed. The 25 year old set career highs in rushing yards, carries and TDs in 2025 after joining Dallas on a 1 year deal.
The former Bronco rushed for 1,201 yards and 11 TDs, while adding another 35 receptions for 137 yards and 2 TDs through the air last season.
His new deal places him 13th amongst running backs in total money and 16th in average annual value. It also takes him off the board from what was shaping up to be an intriguing free agent class at the running back position.
Breece Hall, Kenneth Walker III and Travis Etienne are some of the other names who appear to be set to test free agency this spring.
With Williams officially off the board, Dallas figures to now turn their attention to impending free agent WR George Pickens. Pickens is widely expected to be franchise tagged while the two sides work towards a long term deal over the coming weeks.
