Rashee Rice Suspended 6 Games By NFL

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been suspended 6 games by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. According to reports, the ban will begin immediately, making Rice eligible to return in Week 7 when the Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders.

The suspension stems from Rice’s involvement in a multi-car crash in Dallas back in 2024 which left numerous drivers injured. In July of 2025, Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 5 years probation. The 25 year old pleaded guilty in district court to 2 third-degree felony charges which resulted in a deferred adjudication, with the case being dismissed if he completes the required probation.

Sources indicate that the NFL was seeking a 10 game ban, however the NFL and NFLPA came to a resolution on 6 games, avoiding the planned disciplinary hearing on September 30th.

The explosive wideout has had an up and down NFL career to date. As a rookie, he caught 79 passes for 938 yards and 7 TDs. However, he suffered a torn LCL in his right knee in his sophomore campaign, costing him all but 4 games in 2024.

Kansas City has won 9 straight division titles in the AFC West, and are currently favoured to win a 10th. However, the Chiefs are working with a crowded WR room, devoid of any true stars at the moment, which is why the Rice suspension is a significant one.

KC kept some additional pass catching bodies on their 53 man roster in anticipation of Rice’s suspension. That list includes Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Tyquan Thornton, Nikko Remigio, Jason Brownlee, and Jalen Royals.

The Chiefs are scheduled to kick off their 2025 NFL campaign against the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, September 5th in Brazil.
