Raiders Trade Jakorian Bennett To Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are sending defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for defensive back Jakorian Bennett.

Bennett adds some depth to an Eagles secondary which could be described as their lone weak spot heading into the 2025 NFL campaign. With Darius Slay joining the Steelers in the offseason, Bennett will get an extended look at cornerback as he competes for Slay’s spot alongside Adoree Jackson and Kelee Ringo.

The former 4th round pick out of Maryland ranked 22nd in the NFL in 2024 with 8 pass break ups. Despite only seeing the field in 10 games last year, Bennett started 7 games, and recorded 26 tackles for the Raiders. He became expendable this summer as it looked like he would be the odd man out in new head coach Pete Carroll’s new look defence.

Though he’s seen limited opportunities to date, the 24 year old is a high level athlete, having scored in the top 90 percentile among cornerbacks in the 40-yard dash (4.30), 10-yard split, broad jump, and vertical jump.

Heading back the other way is 25 year old DT Thomas Booker IV. Booker earned a spot on the Eagles roster following a strong training camp in 2024. He would go on to appear in all 21 games for Philadelphia in a rotational role, recording 1 sack, and 18 tackles across 166 snaps.

With the recent release of DT Christian Wilkins, Vegas had a vacancy along their defensive line. Booker figures to compete for starting reps out west immediately, while Ty Robinson and Gabe Hall figure to get extended looks for Philadelphia in the lead up to the 2025 NFL season.
