Browns Sign WR Isaiah Bond To 3 Year Deal

Days after a grand jury declined to indict him on a sexual assault charge, the Cleveland Browns have signed wide receiver Isaiah Bond to a 3 year deal. The contract, which will be fully guaranteed, is worth $3.018M.

The former Texas Longhorns WR posted to his social media accounts on Thursday that he intended to join the Browns for the upcoming season. He then flew to Cleveland on Saturday to begin negotiations, with a deal being finalized shortly thereafter.

“We’ve spent much of the last calendar year getting to know Isaiah as a player and professional and much of the last four months gaining a full understanding of his legal situation,” said Browns GM Andrew Berry. “On the legal side, we have done extensive research that includes but is not limited to hearing from both sides of the case and receiving the results of an independently administered polygraph test…. With his legal matter resolved through a no bill by a grand jury, Isaiah is focused on learning from this experience while moving forward with his life and career.”

Once a highly touted prospect, Bond would go undrafted by NFL teams this spring as clubs waited to see the results of his pending legal cases. The 2 year old spent 2 seasons at Alabama before transferring to Texas for the 2024 NCAA campaign. There, he posted 34 receptions for 540 yards and 5 TDs through the air, adding another 98 yards on the ground to go along with 1 rushing TD.

Bond would go on to run a 4.39s 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine, which normally would have bumped him up a few spots on team draft boards. Instead, he’ll now join the Browns as an undrafted free agent who will get ample opportunities to earn playing time in his rookie campaign.

The speedy wideout will join Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, and Jamari Thrash in Cleveland’s wide receiver room. Because he’s missed significant time away from the field, it’s likely that Bond will take some time to get acclimated to his new surroundings.

The Browns open their 2025 NFL campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 7th.
