Avalanche Sign Victor Olofsson To 1 Year Deal

The Colorado Avalanche have signed forward Victor Olofsson to a 1 year deal on Wednesday the club announced. The pact will be worth $1.575M to bring the three-time 20 goal scorer over from the Vegas Golden Knights.

Across 56 games with Vegas last season, Olofsson scored 15 goals, while adding 14 assists. He then potted an additional two goals, and dished out 2 more helpers across 9 playoff games.

Originally drafted by Buffalo in the seventh round (181st overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft, Olofsson has represented Sweden on multiple occasions. The 30 year old has made two appearances the IIHF World Championship in both 2024 and 2021, earning bronze in his most recent showing.

While there’s still plenty to figure out between now and opening night, it would appear as though Olofsson will help fill out a bottom 6 role for the Avalanche to start the season. Adding some depth scoring to the club’s 3rd line alongside Jack Drury and Ross Colton may be a natural landing spot for the native of Ornskoldsvik.

Colorado fans will have no issues adding another capable NHL body to the roster, after the club filtered through 49 different players in the regular season in 2024-25 due to a litany of injuries.
