Eagles Trade Bryce Huff To 49ers

The Philadelphia Eagles are sending pass rusher Bryce Huff to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 5th round pick in 2026 which can become a 4th if Huff reaches certain milestones. The deal is currently pending completion of a physical.

The trade makes sense for both clubs, as Philadelphia is essentially getting draft capital for an underperforming asset, while shedding salary in the process. San Francisco meanwhile replenishes their depth along the defensive line for a selection that they’re likely to recoup via compensatory picks in 2026.

The 27 year old was signed to a 3 year, $51M contract with a $16.125M signing bonus, and $34M in guaranteed money following a 10 sack, 21 QB Hit season for the New York Jets in 2023. Unfortunately Huff was unable to replicate those numbers in Philadelphia, appearing in only 12 games, and starting just 6 en route a 2.5 sack output.

With his 2026 contract structured so that there would be a $0 dead cap hit after this year, if San Francisco isn’t able to turn his production around, they aren’t committed to Huff longterm. That makes the acquisition a relatively low risk, high reward proposition.

Following the completion of the deal, Philadelphia is now positioned to have 13 picks in the 2026 NFL draft, which GM Howie Roseman could use to further strengthen his squad.

Here’s a look at their projected 2026 draft picks:

Round 1 (own pick)
Round 2 (own pick)
Round 3 (own pick)
Round 3 (from Jets)
Round 3 (projected comp pick)
Round 4 (own pick)
