The Baltimore Ravens and running back Derrick Henry have come to terms on a 2 year, $30M extension which includes $25M in guaranteed money.
Henry signed on with the Ravens as a free agent last offseason following an 8 year stint with the Tennessee Titans. The 31 year old would go on to rush for 1,921 yards, adding 16 TDs on the ground for good measure.
The deal is officially the largest contract in NFL history for a running back over the age of 30. His average annual value of $12.3M per season puts him behind only Saquon Barkley ($20.6M), Christian McCaffrey ($19M) and Jonathan Taylor ($14M).
With the next few years now taken care of, the future hall of famer can turn his attention to some personal milestones in 2025. Henry currently ranks 19th on the NFL’s all-time rushing list with 11,423 yards. If he’s able to rush for at least 1,317 yards this season, he would crack the top 10 and surpass Tony Dorsett.
The former Alabama standout will hope to guide his Ravens squad to the first Super Bowl of his illustrious career, while adding a 3rd Lombardi Trophy to Baltimore’s trophy case along the way.
