Arsenal Ramping Up Pursuit Of Benjamin Sesko

Arsenal Ramping Up Pursuit Of Benjamin Sesko

After a 2nd place finish, Premier League side Arsenal have now turned their attention towards bolstering their roster for the 2025-26 campaign. As the team looks to keep pace with league champions Liverpool, finding a way to close the 18 goal gap between the two clubs appears to be at the top of management’s offseason to do list.

To that end, the club has reportedly renewed their pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Per Sky Germany, Andrea Berta is leading negotiations on behalf of Arsenal, with a desire from the club to complete the deal quickly before additional suitors join the fray.

The Bundesliga season wrapped up with Leipzig finishing seventh in the standings and missing out on European qualification for the first time since 2016. Their disappointing season saw them muster just 13 wins, with Sesko contributing 13 goals during that stretch.

While it’s no secret that Arsenal will be in the market for a striker this summer, Sesko appears to be of particular interest to Mikel Arteta’s side due to his age (21) and potential long term fit on the roster. That being said, Arsenal has other lines in the water as well in the event that the Slovenian opts to sign elsewhere this transfer window.

Another intriguing target which the club is currently kicking the tires on is Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, who notched 53 goals across 51 appearances this season. He however appears to already have multiple clubs interested in acquiring his signature, including Manchester United.

But given the fact that Sesko remains under club control through 2029, the Gunners are likely to be amongst the most aggressive clubs seeking his employment next year.
