Anthony Kim Has Blood Clot In Leg

LIV Golfer Anthony Kim announced via social media that he has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg, putting his status for the upcoming event in Saudi Arabia in doubt.

“2 weeks before Riyadh @golf_league I started feeling bad but couldn’t figure out wat was wrong. Well I found out yesterday it was a blood clot in my leg,” Kim said via Instagram. The 39 year old added that doctors indicated that he will make a full recovery with treatment, but stopped short of confirming his status for LIV Golf’s upcoming slate of events.

Kim returned to professional golf last season following a 12-year hiatus, inking a deal with LIV Golf. The former PGA star finished last in the season-long standings out of 57 players, failing to finish inside the top 30 of any event. Things unfortunately haven’t improved much in this year’s points list after two events following a T-49 and T-51 finish to kick off 2025.

Currently playing as a wildcard as opposed to on an LIV team, his highest showing across 11 tournaments in 2024 was 36th out of 54 competitors.

Nevertheless, Kim’s return to the sport extends beyond his on course performance. The former University of Oklahoma star has been open about his battle with addiction, regularly speaking about it on social media.

“With the support & encouragement during the rehab process of my daughter BELLA my wife @emilybstanley some amazing friends @scum13cool @christopherbarmstrong @crichlegal @themrkicks & MR T.H. & a few others I decided to give my life 1 last shot,” Kim posted to his personal account. “In REHAB I found faith, self love& respect & purpose. I am not proud of who I was but I am 2day. 1 of the many things I realized is how gr8ful we all need 2 B 4 what we have now & 2 spend time w REAL friends bcuz tomorrow is not guaranteed. I promised myself when I was in the ER for 6 days that I would do everything I could 2 make a difference 2 show my daughter that it’s never too late 2 keep trying.I am currently working on a few things that I know will change peoples lives including a website where I will B sharing both good & bad experiences that hopefully others struggling can learn from. I am so incredibly blessed 4 partners like @excrgolf @livgolf_league @bianchet_watches that believe & support my purpose is bigger than just golf but about helping others. Also just as importantly I wanna thank EVERYONE that supports me and my family. My journey is far from over some gr8 golf is loading & my motto of 1% better one day at a time is how I am going to live 4 the rest of my life. Lesssgetit”

Though he may miss the February event in Riyadh, Kim may still compete in the tour’s events in Hong Kong and Singapore next month.
