TE Evan Engram To Undergo Season Ending Surgery

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram will require surgery for a torn labrum in his left shoulder which will sideline him for the remainder of the season the team announced Friday.

Engram is believed to have suffered the injury during the first half of his team’s 10-6 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The news brings an end to an injury plagued 2024 NFL campaign for the 30 year old who previously missed 4 games due to a nagging hamstring injury.

Across 9 games this year, Engram hauled in 47 catches for 365 yards and 1 TD. A sharp decline from his 2023 production which saw him catch 114 passes for 963 yards and 4 TDs.

“Next man up,” Head coach Doug Pederson said at his Friday morning media availability. “Brenton, Luke [Farrell], Josiah [Deguara], the entire offense, that’s what you’ve got to do. You’ve just got to rally and have that next man up mentality.”

Engram joins WR Christian Kirk, WR Gabe Davis, and QB Trevor Lawrence on the season ending injury list for the Jags. Currently sporting a 3-10 record on the year, Jacksonville will turn an eye towards the future as they’ll be in the thick of the race for the 1st overall selection in next spring’s NFL Draft over the final few weeks of the season.

The Jaguars are scheduled to play host to the visiting New York Jets on Sunday, in a game that will go a long way towards deciding the pecking order of the top 5 picks in 2025.
