Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua exited Thursday’s practice early with what appeared to be a knee injury. The 2nd year wideout’s status for Week 9 is still to be determined, however a source described the ailment as “not serious”.
Nevertheless, Nacua has dealt with a variety of injuries to date in 2024, limiting him to just 2 games thus far.
After breaking out for over 1,400 receiving yards and 100+ receptions as a rookie, expectations for the sophomore were sky high entering 2024. But he, and several other Rams teammates, have been hampered by the injury bug in the early going.
Nacua exited his team’s September 8th contest against the Detroit Lions with a knee injury, missing nearly two months in the process. However he returned and looked every bit his old self last week against the Vikings, making 7 catches for 106 yards and sprinkling in 2 rushes for good measure.
While the Rams are downplaying the injury, Nacua was unable to attend his media availability following practice, and sources confirmed it was the same knee that cost him Weeks 2-7. Rams fans and fantasy owners alike will hope LA is simply operating out of an abundance of caution rather than a full blown re-aggravation of the injury.
Nacua’s injury designation heading into the team’s Week 9 showdown with the Seattle Seahawks will be one worth monitoring.
