Puka Nacua Week To Week With Knee Injury

Puka Nacua Week To Week With Knee Injury

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is considered week-to-week after sustaining an injury at practice on Sunday the team announced.

Nacua departed the Rams’ joint practice with the Los Angeles Chargers early after getting up slowly during a team drill. The sophomore WR did not return after being evaluated by team medical personnel.

One of the Rams staffers told reporters that the injury wasn’t considered serious, but that Nacua would likely miss some time over the coming weeks. Los Angeles has a recovery day scheduled for Monday, with the team returning to the field on Tuesday this week.

The injury is the latest in a series of medical setbacks for the Rams who are also missing CB Darious Williams due to a hamstring injury. More importantly, RT Rob Havenstein (ankle) and LG Jonah Jackson (shoulder) are both considered week-to-week, while LT Alaric Jackson is dealing with an ankle injury.

With 3 of their 5 starting offensive linemen down due to a variety of ailments, the team is missing out on valuable preseason reps.

One bit of good news for Rams fans is that RB Kyren Williams, who missed OTA’s with a foot issue, appears to be returning to form.

“I think this camp went well, you know?” Williams told theRams.com following Saturday’s practice. “I think it came with a lot of getting better. That was the model each and every single day was just getting 1% better. I don’t feel like there was a day that I felt like might performance, I was satisfied with (it). So that’s the continued growth that I got to continue to keep chasing, continue having that mindset of I’m getting there, I’m on the way to being where I want to be. And that’s being explosive, being decisive, and just being who I am as a runner. Making people miss, or having to lower my pads when I have to. So for me, it was a work in progress, but I’m excited where we’re going, I’m excited where where we’re headed, and it’s gonna be fun this year.”

Los Angeles opens up their preseason against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday August 11th at 4:25pm ET, though the club is expected to rest the majority of their starters for that tune up.
