The Philadelphia Phillies have come to terms on a 4 year contract extension with left handed pitcher Christopher Sanchez the club announced on Saturday.
While financial details of the contract were not immediately made public, the new deal will begin in 2025 and run through the 2028 campaign. The new pact also includes club options for 2029 and 2030, and will avoid Sanchez’s arbitration years.
The 27 year old is playing this season on a one-year, $753,500 contract.
The 6’1″ lefty is 4-3 on the season with a 2.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 14 starts. Sanchez has struck out 66 batters across 77.1IP for a Phillies rotation which leads the majors in ERA and sits second in total strikeouts.
In 55 career games with Philadelphia, the Dominican hurler is 10-10 with a 3.73 ERA. Sanchez’s next outing will come Sunday in a showdown vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks.
