Michael Jordan has broken one of his own records after a 2003 Upper Deck Ultimate signed 1 of 1 logoman card sold for $2.928M at auction recently.
The mark is a new high for any Michael Jordan card sold on the secondary market, after a late flurry of bids drove the price up at Goldin Auctions. The card in question was graded as “authentic”, while the signature received a perfect 10 from PSA grading.
“Words can simply not express the historical significance and the importance of this card,” CEO Ken Goldin said. “It is, without a doubt, the single best and the single most valuable Michael Jordan card — and the most sought-after — that has ever been produced.”
The previous record for a Michael Jordan card sold for $2.7M back in 2021, in a deal also brokered by Goldin Auctions. That card featured a game worn jersey patch + autograph from the 1997-98 Upper Deck series.
While the figure sets a new record for any Jordan related trading cards, it still falls well short of the all-time sports card record of $12.6M. That mark is currently held by a Heritage Auctions sale of a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card from 2022.
