Knicks Sign OG Anunoby To 5 Year $212.5M Deal

Free agent forward OG Anunoby wasn’t on the market long, as it appears as though the New York Knicks and OG’s camp have come to terms on a new 5 year contract.

The deal will reportedly include both a player option and a trade kicker, and will keep the 27 year old tied to the Knicks organization through the 2028-29 campaign.

Anunoby joined the Knicks following a blockbuster deal last season with the Toronto Raptors, which saw R.J. Barrett and Immanuel Quickley head up north. In the days following his acquisition, the team went 12-2, before briefly stumbling after both OG and Julius Randle went down with injuries.

Nevertheless, New York won their final 5 games of the season and secured the Eastern Conference’s 2nd seed with a 50-32 record. Across 50 games with the Raptors and Knicks, the 6’7″ small forward averaged 14.7pts/4.2reb/2.1ast/1.4stl per contest.

Considered by many to be one of the league’s elite perimeter defenders, Anunoby fit into head coach Tom Thibodeau’s “defence first” system like a glove. With OG in the lineup, the Knicks went a combined 27-6 in both the regular season and the playoffs.

News of the signing comes on the heels of the front office acquiring veteran Mikal Bridges in a separate deal with the Brooklyn Nets. The deal reunites the 27 year old with his former Villanova Wildcat teammates Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, and Jalen Brunson, while further bolstering the Knicks on both ends of the floor.

With the re-signing of Anunoby, and the addition of Bridges, New York has seen their 2025 NBA Championship odds skyrocket to +850 at most sports books. That figure is good for 3rd best across the NBA, trailing only the Boston Celtics (+300) and Denver Nuggets (+750).
