Binnington Fined For High Stick

St. Louis Blues net minder Jordan Binnington has been fined $5,000 by the NHL for his high stick on Nashville Predators forward Luke Evangelista the Department of Player Safety announced.

The fine, which is the maximum allowable under the current CBA, stems from a third period incident between the Blues and Predators on Saturday. The 30 year old goaltender’s stick caught Evangelista up high as he attempted to skate around the net. Binnington was assessed a 2 minute penalty on the play as Nashville would go on to win the contest 5-2.

Binnington is no stranger to the Department of Player Safety, having previously been suspended for 2 games in 2023 as a result of his role in an on ice melee. All money collected goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

The Blues are next in action Monday in a 1pm ET showdown with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
