The 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 is set to go down this afternoon, as the crown jewel on the IndyCar circuit calendar will see one lucky driver kiss the bricks Sunday.
Alex Palou of Spain will start out of the pole position with his Honda engine, while betting favourite Pato O’Ward will start out of the centre position in row 2 after a slower than usual qualifying time. With Honda and Chevrolet each supplying 17 entrants in this year’s event, it’s the first time the race will see a 34 driver field since 2021.
