Ronaldo Eyes Euro 2024

‘The Road is not over yet’ – Cristiano Ronaldo sets his sights on Euros 2024

Football’s poster boy Cristiano Ronaldo has affirmed his international career is far from over, confirming that he plans to play in the Euro 2024 competition.

Ronaldo, who’s the world’s leading goalscorer on the international stage with an astonishing 117 goals in 189 appearances, believes he has a lot more to offer playing for the famous red of Portugal.

The striker will not retire after the World Cup, as he stated he is hungry to compete with the next generation that already consists of conspicuous talents.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Portuguese Football Federation on Tuesday, he gleefully remarked “I am proud to receive an award of this magnitude. I never thought that one day I could achieve it. I thank everyone who was important in my career. It has been a long road, but I would like to say that my road is not over yet.”

Ronaldo has spent the entirety of his career breaking records and proving doubters wrong. There’s nothing the man cannot do. At 37, even though his career appears to be stuck in neutral with Manchester United due to a lack of starts, retirement seems to be the furthest thing from his mind.

And for all we know, there might be another twist in his club career with a transfer or a return to form, which we’ve seen countless times over the last couple of decades.

Ronaldo added “I hope to be part of the Federation for a few more years…I still feel motivated; my ambition is high. I’m in a team with young people. I want to be part of this World Cup and the European too; I’m going to assume that right away.”

Ronaldo is only 11 caps away from amassing another headline-breaking record – 200 senior appearances for Portugal. He will look to marshal his troops in the Nations League group matches against Czech Republic and Spain, on September 24 and 27, respectively.
