Aubameyang Speaks Out Regarding Tuchel Firing

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang speaks on Tuchel’s sacking

Chelsea forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has finally disclosed his side of the story regarding Thomas Tuchel’s departure.

The Gabon international admitted he was upset after the club’s hierarchy decided to part ways with Tuchel. The pair worked together at Borussia Dortmund, where Aubameyang smashed 79 goals in just 95 appearances under Tuchel’s coaching. To add a further 17 assists to the tally created a formidable partnership.

After all, Aubameyang decided to join Chelsea not just to complete ‘unfinished business’ but also work again with one of his favourite bosses.

Tuchel himself had nothing but affectionate comments for the centre-forward, stating “I can only say the best things about Auba as a player and as a person. I enjoyed a lot working with him while I was at Dortmund. Some players stay your players because you were very, very close, and Auba is one of those players. There was always straight away this close bond.”

While the Chelsea fraternity will miss Tuchel and this reunion, Aubameyang was quick to point out that things move quickly in football, and the only thing we can do is move on. “It’s obviously sad when someone leaves the club and I only saw him for a few days. But this is football and when you play football you have to adapt quickly and in some moments in the season, this can happen,” Aubameyang revealed.

He also vowed to speak with Tuchel whenever he finds a chance “Everyone knows the relationship that I have with Thomas. I think he was a bit frustrated and sad. I will try to talk to him as soon as possible.”

Undoubtedly, for a striker of his calibre, Aubameyang will have a huge role to play at Chelsea. It’s a place where goals are hard to come by. Still in search of his first Blues goal, Aubameyang will have his chance when Graham Potter takes on Chelsea for the first time in the Premier League, against Crystal Palace on October 1.
