Brady Heading to the Broadcast Booth

TOM BRADY AGREES TO JOIN FOX SPORTS AS LEAD NFL ANALYST ONCE HIS CAREER ENDS

Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr, arguably the greatest football player of all time, will be back playing football in the NFL this fall, but he already has a job lined up for when he decides to hang up his cleats for good.

FOX Corporation CEO and executive chairman Lachlan Murdoch announced on a Fox earnings call on Tuesday morning that Tom Brady will join Fox Sports as a lead NFL analyst once his career is over. “We are pleased to announce that immediately following his playing career, 7-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady will be joining us at Fox Sports as our lead analyst,” said the 50-year-old businessman.

The Seven-time Super Bowl champion has signed a long-term agreement and will call games alongside Kevin Burkhardt. Brady is not the first NFL player to take on TV analysis upon retirement and will follow in the recent footsteps of former New Orleans Saints quarterback and rival, Drew Brees who joined NBC as an analyst in the spring of 2021 after he retired from the NFL.

“Over the course of this long-term agreement, Tom will not only call our biggest NFL games with Kevin Burkhardt but will also serve as an ambassador for us, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives,” said Murdoch. “We are delighted that Tom has committed to joining the Fox team and wish him all the best during this upcoming season.”

Brady had called time on his playing career after the 2021 season but decided to unretire only 40 days later. In response to the news that he’ll be joining Fox Sports once his career is done, Brady said,  “Excited, but a lot of unfinished business on the field with the Buccaneers.”

The NFL’s all-time passing yard leader will most likely come in as a replacement for Troy Aikman and Joe Buck after the iconic duo left FOX in February. The pair had worked together as the lead broadcast since the 2002 season and were let go by FOX after nearly two decades. Aikman and Buck have since joined ESPN and will cover the Monday Night Football broadcasts.
