Raiders Acquire Davante Adams

Add another Pro Bowler to the AFC West. The Las Vegas Raiders have completed a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers, sending two 2022 picks, including their 1st rounder, to the Packers in exchange for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.

Reports also indicate that the Raiders will be giving Adams a 5 year contract as part of the trade. The deal, which has yet to be finalized, is estimated to be valued at $141.25M over the next 5 seasons.

The deal concludes a tumultuous offseason for the Packers, who doled out $150M over 3 years to veteran QB Aaron Rodgers, a move which apparently irked Adams:

Green Bay had used the franchise tag on Adams earlier this month, following a record setting season for Adams. The 29 year old set franchise records for receptions and receiving yards in 2021 and was hoping to secure a long term contract, be it with Packers or another team.

Originally selected by Green Bay in the 2014 NFL draft, Adams has spent his entire 8 year career with the Packers. The California native now heads out west to join the Raiders and former Fresno State teammate Derek Carr.

Between 2012-2013, Carr and Adams connected on 233 passes for 3,031yds, and 38TDs, meaning it shouldnā€™t take them long to regain the kind of chemistry they had in college.

Adams has 669 receptions for 8,121yds and 73TDs at the NFL level, putting him at number 42 on the all-time receiving TD list before his 30th birthday.
