According to sources familiar with the situation, Manchester United are deep into negotiations to make 63 year old Ralf Rangnick their interim manager. Rangnick is currently the head of sports and development at Lokomotiv Moscow.
The German born executive could assume duties along the sidelines of Old Trafford as early as Dec 2nd against Arsenal. As part of his rumoured deal with the club, Rangnick could see a consultancy role added on to his responsibilities. This could prove pivotal in finalizing an agreement as Man U. is reportedly only looking for a stop gap manager at the moment. A purported 6 month contract is what the sides are looking at currently.
Their long term aspirations are rumoured to be securing current Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino. Unfortunately the PSG bench boss is currently under contract through 2023, and initial requests to begin negotiations were rebuffed by the French squad.
Manchester United currently sit in 8th place in the Premier League standings with 17 pts (5-2-5), however their 21 goals against are the 3rd worst mark in the league. They currently rank ahead of only bottom dwelling Newcastle and Norwich City in that department.
The club is next in action Sunday against table leading Chelsea.
