The Anaheim Ducks have placed GM Bob Murray on administrative leave as they investigate allegations of professional misconduct. Murray, who has been with the Ducks since 2005, will be separated from the team while a third party firm takes over the investigation.
Anaheim posted the following statement on their team website this afternoon: “We recently became aware of accusations of improper professional conduct against Bob Murray. After internal review, we enlisted Sheppard Mullin to perform an independent investigation. Upon recommendation from their initial findings, we have decided to place Bob on administrative leave pending final results. In the interim, Vice President of Hockey Operations and Assistant General Manager Jeff Solomon will assume the role of Interim General Manager. We will have no further comment until the investigation is complete.”
While few details are available as to what the allegations against Murray are, media and players have been quick to weigh in on the situation:
The Ducks are next in action against Vancouver tonight at 10pm ET. This is a developing story.
